By leasing out your rooftops or lands, you can enjoy sustainable 20-year leasing revenue, an extra benefit on top of your regular business revenue.
Building owners or land owners only need to provide their sites without having to put out any capital for the initial installation of the solar power systems or any subsequent management requirements. In addition, such owners can charge leasing fees of about 5 to 15% of the revenue from the sale of the electricity generated.
Leasing fess are proportionate to site locations (e.g. sunshine factor) and site situations (such as orientation, waterproof, and the size of the rooftop which is recommended to be greater than 660m2).
In accordance with the Government's renewable energy purchase policy, a portion of the revenue from the sale of electricity is to be converted to the revenue to the owners for leasing out their rooftops during the 20-year period of the Feed-In Tariff (“FiT”) contract entered into with TaiPower. Such owners can expect to receive reasonable profits for a long term.
Installation of solar panels on the rooftops makes a double skin façade on the rooftops; hence, direct sunlight can be blocked from the roofs, thus the indoor temperature can efficiently drop by about 2-3 degrees. As a result, air-conditioning load is lessened, electricity bill is reduced, sound insulation is improved, and raining and outside noises are lowered.
